Yury Butusov's brilliant, Golden Mask Award-winning staging tells a story in which the collapse of a family, of a country, and of an individual are all interconnected. In Shakespeare's classic work, Lear, as Butusov sees it, imagined himself to be God's equal, and so he divided his kingdom between his daughters just to see what would happen. Featuring four-time Golden Mask Award-winning actor Konstantin Raikin as Lear.

World renowned for his innovative and emotionally impactful deconstructions of classic works, Yury Butusov has staged productions in Paris, London, Oslo, Riga, Beijing, Seoul, Copenhagen and Vilnius. In Russia he was the artistic director of the Lensoviet Theatre in St. Petersburg Theatre and the chief staging director at the venerable Vakhtangov Theatre. He left Russia in 2022 and now continues his creative work in Europe.
